Let's add some Las Vegas to the islands. Tourists will be enticed and island residents will play at home.

Airline tickets may have stabilized but they are still way too high. My husband and I really really wanted to go to Hawaii this year but it will cost $1000 more and we can't afford that. I have been to Hawaii every year since 2004 (twice in 2006 and 2007) so I really love the Islands. People want to come but can't either because the airline prices are too high or they are caught in the mortgage crisis (we are) or they are afraid they will get laid off from their jobs so they are saving, saving, saving. I think there are plenty of enticements for the Islands...just get the prices down to where they were last year. I know it is hard but the gas prices are coming down. Airlines pass on the savings...
